How to actually choose

Start with the test your child is sitting
GL is multiple choice and age-standardised, CSSE is written and marks method, FSCE publishes no past papers at all. Practising the wrong format is the commonest wasted year in 11+ preparation, and it is free to avoid.

Look at what is included, not the headline price
Mock exams move most between tiers, and the cheapest plan on any of these platforms usually lacks them.

Every platform here lets you look before paying. A child who will not open the app is the most expensive subscription of all.

Which 11+ platform is best?
There is no single answer, because the platforms are built for different situations. If you want the largest library and a long track record, Atom is the safe pick. If price decides it, Bond is the cheapest serious option. If you have a target school and want practice in that school’s format alongside its admissions facts, that is what PlusProgress is built for.
Can I trust a comparison written by one of the platforms?
Judge it on whether it names the competition’s real advantages. Ours says that Atom covers Science and we do not, and that Bond is cheaper than us at entry level. Every competitor figure comes from that company’s own site and is re-checked on a schedule, so you can check any of it in a minute.
How much should 11+ preparation cost?
Home practice platforms run from about £7.50 a month at the cheap end to around £70 a month for a mock-inclusive plan. Tuition centres are a different bracket again, commonly £114 to £255 a month. PlusProgress is £12.99 for one subject and £39.99 for everything including school-format mocks.
Do I need more than one?
Usually not, and running two at once tends to produce a child who does more practice rather than better practice. The exception worth considering is a written-answer test such as CSSE in Essex, where any online platform needs pairing with handwritten past papers.
